It’s true. Everything you’ve heard about Retox Party Hostel: the rumours, the myths, the legends… All true. It’s a never-never land with a bar. It’s obvious that with a name like Retox Party Hostel there’s gonna be alcohol. Lots of it. You’ll drink champagne from bottles, Bacardi through straws and Jagermeister from shot glasses after one of the world’s largest Jager Trains. You’ll drink in Ruin Pubs, in a Castle overlooking Budapest, on a Party Boat on the Danube and at an infamous rave in the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. Every night of the week you’ll drink like you’ve just completed 12 years of school and every afternoon you’ll wake up feeling like death, but then every night you won’t be able to resist signing up for whatever insanity the staff have organized and doing it all over again! As soon as you walk in, travellers are strewn all about Retox Bar playing Flip Pong, practicing their strawpedo times for the weekly Guest vs. Staff Challenge, or just lounging around in drag waiting for Turbulence while retelling the stories from the night before… stories that excite, and drive you into seizures of laughter. So BE WARNED! Due to the amount of drinking and partying they do there, don’t be surprised to witness vomiting, semi-nudity, sexual acts and very sloppy behavior from staff and guests alike. Ridiculous behaviour goes hand in hand with copious amount of alcohol and questionable morals. Both of which they support wholeheartedly at Retox Party Hostel. Their community accepts anyone willing to get involved. They don’t judge there, they encourage. They have their own Retox Bar downstairs which opens at 11am, so food and booze are never more than a few metres away, and when it finally shuts late at night, just take your food & drinks down to their Late Night Room and keep the party going until you pass out. Plus Retox Bar hosts an amazing All You Can Drink Night each week, as well as the infamous Budapest Party Hostels Jager Train every Sunday. And if you’re a bit of an exhibitionist (or fancy a new way to work out) you’ll love their new Peep Show room, fully decked out with a wrap around couch and floor to ceiling length stripper pole. They also have an on-site body-piercer for all of your hole punching needs, and their good friends have a tattoo parlour 1 block away from the hostel in case you want to get some ink to remember all the destruction you did to yourself. Retox Party Hostel… For those who like to drink outside the box.
Protip: They don’t accept bookings from people over 36, but groups (including university, erasmus, stag and hen dos) are welcome!
The staff and patrons of Retox became my family for those four days and nights. We drank from sun down til sun up, laughed and loved. The atmosphere in itself was truly incredible, and I am so glad I was able to bask in it. To be honest, the only reason I left was because if I stayed just one more day, I would have stayed forever. So my advice: If you like to meet new people, laugh, run a muck and enjoy yourself with no limitations, go to Retox. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Retox Party Hostel is exactly as the name states, a place to party non stop 24 hours a day from check in to check out. This is not the place to go if your looking for a chilled out relaxing hostel, however if you want to meet fun party people and get involved in the activities the hostel puts on every night then this is the place you want to be!

Retox was absolutely amazing, already want to go back! We went to the thermal bath party, Jager train and Open Mic night, all of which were amazing!!! Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who’s a keen bean for a party! Such a crazy but great experience!
We stayed for 5 nights and got 5 nights of craziness…

I had high expectations coming into this place but I was blown away by how amazing it was. I felt at home straight away, everyone was very social and drank together, it was very easy to meet people and make friends… best hostel in Europe by far.
Stayed in a lot of so called ‘Party Hostels’, but this is the only one that’s ever lived up to the name. The staff are only to happy to help you with anything you need, and they love getting stupidly drunk with you. Best staff I’ve experienced at a hostel too. After extending 3 times we had to drag ourselves away from the place as we thought we would never leave otherwise. If you like excessive drinking, laughing your head of and creating stories that people ‘back home’ will barely believe, this is the place for you.
The best Party Hostel in Europe by far. This place blew my mind… This is a better party than you’ll get at any other Party Hostel, PERIOD. It’s insane. The staff are really friendly and you get to know them all personally because it’s not that big of a place. EVERY NIGHT there is something equally insane going on, so prepare to party. We were up till sunrise every night and slept most of the day… The alcohol is cheap and you really don’t need to leave the Hostel to have an amazing time.
